Watching my Diet

Today I embarked on the all too familiar journey of weight loss. It has been a struggle most of my life and once again I am focusing on making better habits. Thanks to my mom I know how to eat well balanced meals and I like almost all veggies, so that isn't the hard part. What I struggle with is my love for good food!! And since I am not picky, good food is everywhere.

But this time might be different, if I can stay focused, because I am heading towards a life altering experience. Pregnancy. Hopefully later this year (and thirty pounds lighter) I will be able to conceive and have a healthy pregnancy.

And a large part of being healthy is getting enough rest, so with that I bid you good night.

Birthday Come and Gone

Another year down, another year begun...this will be a big one!

I actually didn't get depressed this year near my birthday (a plus) and I had a great party at home with friends. I think I am finally getting to a point in my life when I am happy about who I am (and my life) and I don't need the acceptance or approval from people in my life who I will never get it from anyway. I have to thank my Dad for that, although it's really weird, since he has been gone I feel like I have changed a lot, for the better. When he died I have thought so much about him and what he taught me, his life and his passion. He had bad times and good times but no matter what he looked at things in a positive way - even if it was only for show. He always told me that it doesn't matter what other people think - do what makes me happy. It might seem silly now, but not until he was gone did I understand so much of what he was telling me and all the things he tried to teach me over the years. So really it's been a big year already!

Anyway, back to the birthday party - FYI Pot Luck Appetizers was a great idea!! And of course Tony got my surprise cake and this year it was amazing - as always!
Yep that is giant sushi rolls - or at least it appears that way - those are all little cakes and the base is a cake. Of course it's the decedant white cake with amaretto butter cream icing from Who Made the Cake! by Nadine Moon. I get one every year and each time Tony comes up with a new idea to surprise me.

For Valentine's Day weekend we took a trip to Vegas and that was really great! The first night we saw Zumanity which was fun. The next two days we gambled a lot, did well at the Blackjack table and the slots. We met some fun ladies that were in town with a convention and we stayed at a blackjack table with them at the MGM for 5 1/2 hours! In the end we can home with some of our gambling budget (instead of losing the budget and then some). Didn't do much else but we did finally make it to the M&M World store this time!! I didn't think it would be 4 stories but they put their initials and characters on everything!! We hope to make it back to Vegas at least one more time this year...

Are you ready for some football??

It's Super Bowl weekend and I am about to go to work. But tomorrow I will for sure be at home watching the game on the big screen in HD projection!!

I have been working a lot lately, things are crazy but good. Business travel is getting old. I have 4 people in 3 cities outside of Houston that report to me, so I go see them every so often. It's very beneficial but I am just not a business traveler, I would rather be home with Tony and the dogs.

Tonight there is a UFC party at Angela's but more important than that - it's a Queso Throwdown between Ang & Ryan!! Can't wait for this!!

An Evening with Turner

I haven't been able to see Turner is a long time, so this time was great and I am happy that his parents are out enjoying Motorcross! I got him a Sit N Spin for Christmas and he likes it although he doesn't like to sit on it but he likes to push the top to play the music and he wants to stand on it or sit on the top. It's so funny to watch him play and talk.



This little man is such a cutie in his monkey jammies! It's nice to play and listen to him learning to talk...he's happy almost all the time. He loves his truck! We played, ate dinner, took a bath and got ready for bed, saw Tony and had a snack and then went peacefully into the nite nite :)

Happy New Year from Vegas

A Comeback?!?!

I know it's been too long...I am going to try to get back into this. Since the last post, the holidays were nice, not too stressful this year, but Tony and I were both working so much we didn't even decorate. Then we did Vegas for New Year's with Angela & Courntney - will hopefully get some pics up soon. I have to get them from Ang.

Vegas was a lot of fun, we had a VIP table at Bank (the club in Bellagio) and Usher appeared for the count down and did a couple of songs. The experience was good but most likely not something we will repeat. You get a litte too much attention and people can be aggressive. One chick (who Angela and I had told to leave our area twice already) was talking to Tony (who did not know who she was) and when I tried to get his attention, she took my arm off of him and I almost beat the shit out of her.

You know in the movies or on TV when someone visualizes what they would like to do to somebody in their mind, but doesn't actually do it? That is what happened to me - I saw myself knocking her on her ass, but I didn't actually do it. I just told our bouncer Rock that he needed to keep them away from us.

Tony's theme for the trip was 'ball till the wheels fall off!' and he did, his wheels fell off! :)
The next morning Ang and I had a great massage, we both said the best one of our lives! I have that ladies number so when I go back to Vegas I will be calling her again.

BTW we are going back to Vegas for Valentine's Day weekend...so it won't be long!

Thanksgiving

Well it has been interesting...my mom broke her leg & had surgery today. She may not be able to walk again at least not for a long time. I haven't posted in a while b/c things have been so busy! Work is crazy, we are doing more than ever and I am managing 11 people in 4 different offices, plus helping 2 other remote offices get going with our department. I have been training and traveling a lot - which takes it's toll. But I am siezing the oppotunity I am being given. Tony has also been working a lot the past 2 months.

A fun plan on the horizon will be New Years Eve in Vegas!!! We are really excited!!

Like a kid with a new toy...this thing is useful & fun! September was a really hard month but things are getting easier. One fun thing was the kickass birthday party of Turner Jensen Vaughan. The Sesame Street theme was in the decor, cakes & moonwalk! Some of us even wore SS t-shirts. Pics will be up soon.
