Thanksgiving

Well it has been interesting...my mom broke her leg & had surgery today. She may not be able to walk again at least not for a long time. I haven't posted in a while b/c things have been so busy! Work is crazy, we are doing more than ever and I am managing 11 people in 4 different offices, plus helping 2 other remote offices get going with our department. I have been training and traveling a lot - which takes it's toll. But I am siezing the oppotunity I am being given. Tony has also been working a lot the past 2 months.

A fun plan on the horizon will be New Years Eve in Vegas!!! We are really excited!!

Like a kid with a new toy...this thing is useful & fun! September was a really hard month but things are getting easier. One fun thing was the kickass birthday party of Turner Jensen Vaughan. The Sesame Street theme was in the decor, cakes & moonwalk! Some of us even wore SS t-shirts. Pics will be up soon.

Goodbye Dad, I Love You

April 29, 1942 - September 1, 2008. He died of natural causes in his home in Bandera, TX.

This was my Dad, Martin Eugene Park, in May at my graduation. He was so proud of me! The night before we had met him downtown and had dinner and drinks. Of course he kept us out too late and Tony woke up still drunk. But that was Dad for you - always wanted to have the best time to make sure whoever he was with was having a good time - which usually equated to too much drinking! And he had stories! Man did he have stories...He had an amazing life and was able to retire and do something he loved.

He is the only person I have known in my life that always said "when I retire I want to do this..." and actually did it. As a teenager I laughed at the thought of my father moving up to the hill country and buying a horse, and riding it!! But that is what he did and he loved it. The first time we went to visit, he put Tony and I on horses and sent us out into the state park, which was fun and beautiful.

Although my parents divorced when I was only a baby, I was able to see them put the past behind them and actually hug each other the day I married Tony. Standing in the courthouse lobby, at that moment, the first time I ever saw my parents touch, I knew my marriage was blessed. It was a blessed day.

I know he always wanted the best for his kids, all 6 of us. Dad was proud of us all even though he was not as close to some of us in the past years. Marlene, the oldest, the daughter with his true love Darlene who died when Marlene was 3. Marty, the middle and his name sake (Martin Eugene Park II) and me, his baby girl. I gained 3 brothers by marriage, Dad's marriage to Lolly, the woman who will always be my stepmom. Coley, Tate and Quinton who I consider to be brothers. They have been a part of my life for over 20 years.

My Dad always made sure to tell me that he loved me, my whole life. It breaks my heart to know I will never hear him say that again, or call me his baby girl. But I know his soul has moved on and his life was, at least in the last years, how he wanted it.

I am sure he is around us, looking down, having a beer with that big smile of his face.

Happy Birthday Marcus!

One of Tony's life long friends, and the man responsible for us being together, had his surprise birthday dinner at Greengo's Saturday night, August 23. The last of the trifecta to turn 38. It was a fun time...lots of surprise....lots of laughs - the way a birthday should be!! We love you Marcus!

Letty & Tania's Birthday

I Married A Biker!

Tony on his new toy! Suzuki Burgman 400...the first ride. It was just delivered this morning and he had to go to work and wait ALL DAY to ride it!

Aliana Turns 1

Lil Mama turned one on July 27 and here is a shot from her party. She had a blast with the new phones she got, danced for her guests and loved the new Winnie the Pooh table Fun Gran got her!

Business Traveler

I have come to Atlanta to train my newest employee. Yesterday, getting here was a lot of trouble. My plane was delayed over an hour, the rental car was not ready, the GPS was not exactly accurate, and I could not get internet service in my first room here at the Ritz Carlton! I actually spent about 2 1/2 hours dealing with their engineers and service provider figuring out that it was not me or my computer, but a problem with their equipment. Frustrating!!

But I do have to give them credit, Ritz is all about customer service and they really have gone out of their way to correct this issue. I was moved to another room that now has the access...obviously!! Identical room but I moved up from the 8th floor to the 14th floor! :-)
One problem...there is a buzzing noise over by the window...not sure if its one of the plugs or the AC or what, but I am going to unplug everything before I go to bed.

Work is going okay, now that I am on-line I can do some work tonight, but I miss home! This is the first time I have been away from Tony for more than one night since we have been married. I know every says that one day I will be begging for time alone, but I am not there yet!! I miss my hubby and my doggies!! Even though we travel often, sleeping away from home is much better when Tony is with me...
